The Mystery of
BLUE HEART DAZZLEGLOW

Blue Hearted Dazzleglow.
Many thanks to Baby Sparkles for the use of this picture :)

The story behind this pony is a strange one. It first came to light that there was more than one version of Dazzleglow a few years ago, and immediately confusion ensued. It was assumed by many that she must be the @foreign@ or @European@ version of Dazzleglow, and even today there are still sites and sources which support this idea.
However, the truth about blue-heart Dazzleglow rests many miles away from the United Kingdom. The myth of her link with us began to some degree, I think, by the fact she was pictured on one of the UK inserts from the early 1990s. However, it was often the pattern in the UK for the images to be taken of American issue ponies for use in advertising here, as our own line had not been manufactured yet...this also occurs with prototypes. Twisty Tail is another example of a pony shown in her US pose when first advertised through the UK MLP Club, although when she was issued here her pose was quite different.
Blue Heart Dazzleglow's humble Hasbro beginnings stem uniquely and entirely from North America, where both versions of Dazzleglow was sold (Europe and the UK only had the one with the pink hearts). She is only ever to be found for sale on Ebay and auction sites from American and Canadian sellers, and she appears in the US television commercial for the 'Glow and Show Ponies', along with the other members of her set.
I bought Dazzle Glow brand new in the United Kingdom and her hearts were pink, her body a lighter colour and she had light blue instead of aqua in her mane.
So, much as I would love and prefer the Blue Heart version to belong to the UK...Blue Heart Dazzleglow is in fact a NORTH AMERICAN exclusive pony.

Just as an aside - anyone know anything about these?? ;) The Starglow on the right was purchased brand new in the United Kingdom by my sister in 1991, and the Starglow on the left was purchased second-hand by myself last December at the Birmingham Toy Fair here in England.
Anyone who knows anything about the US issue of this pont - information gratefully received.=)
