Details
The Family Friends and Family Babies, or Rainbow Families as they were also known were a development in some ways of the original Loving Family Babies. This time the parents had identical hair and body colours in such a design that the colours ran horizontally rather than vertically. The Daddy ponies all stood in a feminine pose - that of Shady or Cupcake - and the babies reflected also the same identical colour schemes. Each pony had a different symbol, however. Although featured briefly in TV episodes, these families were often misrepresented in name and/or in the number of members and it was only when they appeared in UK comics that they were given their real names - Sunbright, Berrytown and Meadowsweet. In advertising material Baby Berrytown was shown in the wrong pose.
