Although in the United States the Sparkle Ponies idea was being developed with Baby Ponies in the same design, in the United Kingdom the baby ponies, featuring more original names than those in America were released with a glossy finished solid body and hair streaked with rainbow tinsel. Known as Starlight Babies, they are seldom seen second hand in good shape. Strangely enough, in the oringinal advert Baby Mischief was shown as being purple, when actually she is pink. Baby Explorer also caused some confusion, because although she featured extensively in the comics she was always pictured as being an earth pony, when in fact she is a unicorn.
Please note that the accessories the babies are pictured with are merely props and were not released with them at all.
There is also a version of Baby Mischief with tinsel that is only gold, and not rainbow coloured (she is on the left of the below picture) I bought her from Germany but whether she is a german variant or a factory glitch is unknown. She is made in China. Click on the image for a closer look.
